This is what you’ll learn in this course
The goal of this complete wheel throwing workshop / course is to take you from the beginner’s to the intermediate level of throwing, in a didactic and guided way.
This workshop is divided into 2 modules.
In module 1 you will learn to center (it is the most important part of the work on the wheel), to throw (giving shape to your piece) and to trim (to finish your piece and make its foot) different pieces:
- cylinders (the base of throwing),
- bowls,
- pieces with narrow neck
- how to put handles …
And in module 2 we will take you to the next level, when it comes to turning … This is what you will learn:
- review of centering -and how to center large amounts of clay
- pieces with lids
- closed pieces
- open pieces
- medium size pieces
- how to knead and recycle clay
A selection of 6 pieces from module 1 and 2 pieces from module 2 (all chosen by you) will be fired. And on the assigned Friday, you will learn to glaze your pieces.
You can pick up your finished pieces within 2 weeks after the glazing class. All pieces are suitable for everyday use (and they’re very brave – they are not afraid of the microwave nor the dishwasher!).
No previous experience needed! You just need to bring old clothes and shoes to change – all the rest is up to us.

Glazing class: Friday from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. Date to be confirmed.

THIS COURSE INCLUDES:
- Stoneware clay, tools, firings of your selection of pieces and glazes.
- you can pick up your pieces with 2 weeks after the date of your glazing class. If you live outside Barcelona, they may be sent by post, shipping costs apply, paid in advance, by PayPal).
For better personal tutoring we admit max. 7 students per class. The courses will take place with a minimum of 4 students. For groups of 4 or more students we can arrange special dates/schedules and programs.
