We leave the functional and enter the playful par excellence: sculpture of happy animals 🙂
In this workshop, the ceramist Irina Slimobich (the hands behind the beauties of @irino.slimobich) will guide you in the creation of a sculpture-decorative object, with modeling, sculpting and troweling techniques.
Program:
Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.:
We`ll start by analyzing the sketches that we previously asked you to prepare for this workshop and teach you to translate your sketch into geometric shapes (for example: head = circle; body = cylinder) and thus have the sculptural process of your piece well outlined.
We transfer your sketch into the clay and begin the sculptural process. Your cheerful animal will have approximate dimensions of 25cm high and 15cm wide/length (size specification is meant to give you time to finish it comfortably in a weekend).
After the piece is finished, it is cut and emptied from the inside. We put the parts back together.
Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.:
We’ll dedicate to the final detail work and to the second part: the decoration with slips and underglazes.
No previous experience is necessary!
We`ll take a break of 30 to 40 minutes.
The student must prepare:
- sketches with the idea of the happy animal that you want to sculpt and send us by email to eltorn@eltornbarcelona.com
- bring the original sketch, notebook and pencil for later sketches
Price: €165/all included.
Dates: Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th November from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
THIS WORKSHOP INCLUDES:
- clay, tools, firings, slips and underglazes.
- Your piece will be glazed and fired and in a month after the workshop it’ll be ready to be picked up.
For better personal tutoring we admit max. 6 students per class. This course will take place with a minimum of 4 students.
