To lose the fear of decorating your pieces! You’ll learn to decorate functional ware in leather hard state. We’ll provide you with all necessary material so you can experiment with all these techniques. And you’ll never go blank again in front of your pieces!
Program:
we’ll work with the following techniques:
- Mishima (with vax resist on green ware)
- Sgraffito (on green ware)
- Paper resist (on green ware)
We’ll start by explaining you how to conceive your design; and few technical info about the material used.
Then, by demonstration and practice you’ll explore the possibilities of each decoration technique, applying on pieces made by the studio.
Your pieces will be fired by our team and we’ll let you know when to pick them up.
Remember – they’re all functional and you’ll be able to use them daily! This workshop is given by the ceramicist Fip Tonks.
For this course, we kindly ask you to bring with you:
- notebook and pen for notes and sketches
- a sharp cutter and a pair of scissors
No previous experience needed!

Schedule: Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th of March from 10am to 4 pm.

THIS COURSE INCLUDES:
- Stoneware clay, tools, firings and glazes.
- Our team will fire and glaze your pieces and we’ll let you know when to pick them up. When abroad, shipping can be arranged (shipping costs apply; paid upfront by PayPal).
For better personal tutoring we admit max. 6 students per class. The courses will take place with a minimum of 4 students.
