Why not a workshop that combines learning how to make a breakfast set and then decorate it?
Program:
For building our breakfast set, we`ll work with the following techniques:
- slab (over molds)
- coiling (regular and symmetrical)
And for decoration, we’ll learn the following ones:
- Sgraffito
- Paper stencil (paper resist)
- Mishima with wax
First you’ll learn the 2 most used manual techniques: coiling and slab building. With these techniques, you’ll make a set for breakfast, with a plate, cup, bowl and a jug.
Then, through demonstration and practice, you’ll explore the possibilities of each deco technique. We’ll guide you on how to conceive your design; and few technical info about the material used. You’ll then explore the possibilities of each decoration technique, applying them on your pieces.
This workshop is taught on 2 weekends, Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 4pm. The handbuilding workshop is given by the ceramicist @cebeyceramics and the decoration workshop by the ceramicist @tonks_pots.
We’ll fire your pieces and let you know when to pick them up.
They’re all functional pieces, you can use them in your day to day routines.
If you live outside of Barcelona, shipping can be arranged (shipping costs apply).
For this workshop, we kindly ask you to bring with you:
- notebook and pencil for notes
- scissors and a sharp cutter
No previous experience is required!
Price: 295 €/all included.
Schedule: Handbuilding from 10am to 3pm; and Decoration from 10am to 4pm; both Saturday and Sunday . New dates to be confirmed.
THIS COURSE INCLUDES:
- Stoneware clay, tools, firings and glazes.
- Our team will fire and glaze your pieces and we’ll let you know when to pick them up. When abroad, shipping can be arranged (shipping costs apply; paid upfront by PayPal).
For better personal tutoring we admit max. 6 students per class. The courses will take place with a minimum of 4 students.
