We have prepared a workshop that combines learning to throw and then decorating your pieces with different techniques using slips.
Program:
The first module is the introduction to the wheel:
- you learn to focus
- turn and return different shapes
You will choose your 6 favorite pieces and in the next module, you will learn to decorate them with slips, through these techniques:
- sgraffito
- reservations with paper
- Mishima with wax reserve
No previous experience is necessary.
We will guide you through all the steps in the wheel process.
Then, in the next module and through demonstration and practice, you’ll explore the possibilities of each decoration technique. We’ll guide you on how to design a composition and how to apply it to your pieces.
This workshop is split into 2 weekends, Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 4pm. The wheel module is taught by ceramic artist Julen Ussia, @julenussia and the decoration workshop by ceramic artist Fip Tonkins, from @tonks_pots.
